As a sourcing and quality control specialist connecting distributors with trusted manufacturers, my visit to Electronics Asia 2024 in Hong Kong was both a scouting mission and a pulse check on the industry’s evolving standards.

Here’s how this Hong Kong event reinforce to identifying reliable factories, assessing product quality, and spotting innovation with commercial potential.

• New factory partnerships: Met with OEM/ODM suppliers from Shenzhen, Dongguan, Guangzhou (Guangdong Region) and other Southeast Asia offering competitive pricing for smart devices, PCBs, and IoT components.
• Quality benchmarks: We observed and did a short test to some products that are applying for FCC, CE, RoHS/WEEE standards.
• Shifting supply chains: More suppliers are diversifying production – a critical factor for risk assessment in the actual situation.

Electronics Asia confirmed that the right supplier isn’t just about the price, is about the proven quality, testing and certification for the market.

And we still found some brands navigating complex system of making their own devices, with no certifications, product quality control, as same as on other trade fairs we have been. Most of these products they are doing are for internal market and some times only have CCC certifications without other international safety and quality standards.
